Specialist Care for Complete, Safe Toothache Relief

What is Root Canal Treatment?

Root canal treatment is a precise dental procedure used to treat inflammation and bacterial infection within the tooth pulp or root canal system, the primary cause of severe toothache and gum abscesses. This effective care enables you to preserve your natural tooth, avoiding the need for extraction

During the procedure, your specialist will carefully remove the decayed structure to access and clear away the infected pulp tissue. The root canals are then thoroughly disinfected, shaped, and filled with a biocompatible sealing material. Once restored, your natural tooth regains its optimal health, strength, and functionality, allowing you to chew and bite naturally in your daily life.

Why Root Canal Treatment is Better Than Tooth Extraction?

Preserve Your Natural Teeth:

Avoid permanent tooth loss.

Long-Lasting Durability:

With a proper restoration (such as a dental crown), your treated tooth can last as long as a natural tooth.

Protects Structural Alignment:

Prevents neighbouring teeth from shifting or opposing teeth from over-erupting into the gap.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

You will feel virtually no discomfort. Our specialist uses local anaesthetics to ensure the area is fully numbed during treatment. As the anaesthetic takes effect, any existing pain will promptly subside.

A root canal treated tooth often loses a portion of its natural structure. The core post acts like a structural foundation pile to reinforce the inner core, while the dental crown fully restores the outer tooth, protecting it against daily chewing forces and fractures.

Once your tooth is reinforced with a post and crown, and provided you maintain good daily hygiene to keep gum disease at bay, it can remain functional and healthy for as long as any of your original teeth.

Please refrain from chewing on the treated side for approximately 24 hours to ensure your temporary filling remains intact. You may continue to brush and floss as normal. If prescribed, take your pain relief medication for the first two to three days to relieve any temporary discomfort, and be sure to return for your scheduled follow-up appointment to complete your final crown restoration.
